Ideas to maintain your website at top

samir07:28 am

The key to long-term success is to create site stickiness – a reason for visitors to return to your on-line shop over and over. Sticky content, by definition, provides benefit to the reader. It might be information, humor, the latest (very latest) news within a market sector, tips and suggestions – any information that keeps visitors returning and even book marking your site.Sticky content could be as simple as the horoscope of the day, a Sudoku puzzle or even just a crossword puzzle. The objective? Less time on content development and more time on marketing while, simultaneously increasing site traffic. Think it can’t be done? Well here’s how to do it on bottle return money.

Post Your Publishing Schedule

If your readership liked article #1, chances are they’ll stop back to read article #2 – especially if you provide the reader with a publication schedule. If visitors know that every Thursday you’re going to post your latest stock prognostications, then all of those self-directed investors just might stop by every Thursday and read this week’s stock picks over their morning lattes.

Don’t push yourself to the limits, promising green content every day. You’ll get tired of cranking out the words and, after a few weeks, the content won’t be as fresh as you and your one-time readers thought it was. Read more

Why SEO?

samir11:18 am

Why is it important for your company to get search engine optimisation (SEO) services for your company website?

Competition on the Internet is tough. As of March 2006, there are around 50 million websites and 80 million registered domains on the Internet. Each one of those websites has a product to sell and a message to deliver. With over one billion people worldwide surfing the Internet on a day-to-day basis, the goal of each website is to corner a share of that market in order to make money. To do this, a company must drive as much traffic to their website as possible, and from the volume of traffic going to the website, the company forms its customer base.

Research has shown that 90% of all Internet users use the three major search engines: Google, Yahoo and MSN. These search engines are designed in such a way that whenever a user types in the needed search keywords, the search engine will bring up a list of websites ranked according to their relevancy to the keywords typed in. The more relevant a website is to a set of keywords put in, the higher is its ranking is on the search engine’s results.

How does a getting SEO service come into this picture? You see, most search engine users only take the time to visit the top 20 websites listed on the results page brought up by the search engine. They usually do not bother anymore with websites with lower rankings. Thus, most of the traffic goes to the higher-ranking websites while the lower-ranking ones are left high and dry.

It is clear then that to earn money with your website, your website has to have a high search engine ranking. To achieve this, it has to be search engine optimised.

SEO Secret about Headlines

samir03:49 pm

Many people are concentrating so much on using keywords and keyword phrases that they have forgotten something much more important and without which keywords can be virtually useless.Lets illustrate this with a common scenario that we all go through fairly frequently. You enter a keyword phrase at your favorite search engine and the first page of the results comes through. What do you do next? Do you go to the first site listed or do you scroll down the listed sites. Most people do the latter, but what would they be looking for? The answer is simple, the headline or article title that looks the most relevant to what they are looking for.

Now let us assume that the site that comes up right at the top, at number one has a boring uninspiring headline and the site that is number 10 at the very bottom of the first page has a hot enticing title. What will happen? But of course No 10 will end up getting all the traffic while number one will be starved of hits. That is how important headlines are. So without a good headline all the good SEO work that you put in will not yield the expected results, even if you do end up right at the top of results for popular keyword searches.

Why SEO Will Hardly Work Without Powerful Headlines
In fact, SEO will hardly work without excellent headlines and titles to your articles. One of the key aspects about SEO is the accumulation of back links pointing to your site. Search engines favor this happening in a natural way rather than you having to purchase links. For this to happen, your article on the web page will need to get very high traffic so that when a fraction of these visitors link to your article, you will quickly end up with thousands or even tens of thousands of links pointing to your site.

To attract this traffic, a key component of your content will be the headline. Many stories have been told about headlines making the difference between a few hundred copies of a supermarket tabloid sold and a couple of millions. Online headlines are even more critical because many times it is all that somebody sees before they make a decision on whether or not to click on a link that will lead to you and your article.

Why Good Headlines Without Keywords Still Work
Many times webmasters have been greatly hindered in their work of creating suitable article titles by the need to use exact keyword phrases. The result has been awkward headlines that hardly inspire readership. Yet those who have realized that it is possible to leave out a keyword phrase from your headline or to modify it slightly and still succeed in SEO have greatly benefited.

The truth is that while it is true that your keyword phrase as early as possible in a headline will help a great deal in terms of SEO, it is in fact not the only consideration that leading search engines take into account when deciding how your site will be ranked in search engine results. More important are the number of relevant back links pointing to your site. This means that an excellent headline that will attract readership and ultimately back links to a site is much more important than a poor headline with the exact keyword phrase slotted in at the beginning of the headline.

What Is A Good Headline?
A good article title or headline has to be relevant to start with. Never forget that headlines are supposed to flag down your target readership and not everybody. This is perhaps the most common mistake people make when creating headlines. And this is where the webmaster thinks to create a headline that has as general an appeal as possible. Actually a headline that seeks to attract everybody quite often ends up attracting nobody.

Excellent Headlines Are the Fuel That Will Drive Your SEO Campaign
Always remember that without good targeted headlines your SEO effort will most probably come to nothing. It is therefore a good investment to spend your time studying the art of creating good headlines for your SEO content.

Components of Search Engine Optimization

samir10:12 am

A number of factors are important when optimizing a website, including content, structure of the website’s copy, page layout, HTML meta-tags, standards used for designing HTML pages and the submission process. While a site is being optimized it includes four main components – Researching Keywords, Adding META Tags, Submitting website on various search engines and Exchanging links with other related websites.

The activities that are performed on the website pages are placed under ‘On Page SEO’ and activities which are not performed on the website pages falls in ‘Off Page SEO’ head. The process of optimizing a website starts with researching keywords, then on page and finally off page, which is an ongoing process.

On Page SEO

1) Keyword Research - It starts with browsing the website in detail, having discussions with the site owner to gather information about business model and target market. Basis this keywords for which the site will be optimized are researched.

2) Google Analytic Account - This tool of Google gives administrator an option to keep viewing the traffic hitting the website on different pages. To use these tools an account is to be created with Google, further to which a code is provided which is to be added in all the pages of the website.

3) On Page Optimization - Once keywords are finalized, we will get started will adding META tags and making any changes to the page required for Search engines to parse. These changes do not have any affect on look & feel or style of the website. Also at the same time code for Google Analytics will be added. This process mainly comprise of adding META tags, chosen keywords, phrases to make them more SEO friendly with respect to the selected keywords, adding H1 tags, ALT tags checking for broken links.

1) Search Engines Submission - Once the On Page is done site will then be submitted to all major search engines and this process of submission will again be repeated after 6 months for new pages to get indexed.
